celebrities with onlyfans account

The history of the English monarchy is what you want to learn about. You will learn about the origins of the English monarchy and Henry VIII's reign. Also, the succession crisis between Edward VI (and Henry VIII) will be discussed. You will also learn about Henry VIII's takeover of Ireland and Oliver Cromwells efforts in returning England to Roman Catholicism. This article contains information on the English monarchy and its influence on the nation.

Henry VIII reign

The financial aspects surrounding Henry VIII's reign are complex. The monarch was an extravagant spender. He used revenue from Reformation Parliament and the dissolution monasteries to pay for his lavish spending sprees. In addition, he converted money paid to Rome into royal revenue. Consequently, Henry's financial situation was constantly in jeopardy. Henry was then forced to enter into a series costly, but ultimately unsuccessful, wars.

Edward VI's succession problem

Edward VI's death caused a succession crisis in the Tudor dynasty. During this crisis, Edward made plans to change the line of succession in his father's will. The Duke and Duchess of Northumberland were named Lord President of Council. He was an effective ruler. Edward was already involved in the Government’s decisions, and had plans for his successor. The Devise was not adopted however.

Henry VIII's possession over Ireland

Henry VIII used all his powers against Catholic Church during the reign of his monarchy to further his goals. The Laws of Wales Acts resulted in a legal union between England and Wales, and the Crown of Ireland Act made Henry the first English monarch to rule over Ireland. Henry became the first English monarch crowned King in Ireland by virtue of the Act. Ireland was a papal property before this Act. Henry VIII's dream of a united Ireland was impossible without changes to Parliament. This reorganized Parliament's role and set the stage for a clash between the Crown and Parliament, which lasted until the English Civil War.

Oliver Cromwell's attempt at returning England to Roman Catholicism

The Reformation led to the re-establishment of the Church of England, and in 1649 Oliver Cromwell signed King Charles I's death warrant. He was a member of The Rump Parliament (1649-53) which ruled the short-lived Commonwealth of England. He was appointed in 1650 to lead the English army against the Irish Confederate. The English forces defeated Ireland's army, and occupied Ireland. There they passed the Penal Laws. The English forces also waged a war against the Scottish army in 1650 and 1651.

George VI's effigy Portrait

William Reid Dick, a Scottish artist sculpted King George VI's portrait of himself in effigy at Windsor's St. George's Chapel. Dick designed 16 official portraits of royalty, including George VI. The portrait features Queen Victoria wearing her diamond diadem. Official currency has the portrait.
