Richie Tenenbaum's unrequited affection for his adopted sibling

In "Richie Tenenbaum's Unrequited Feelings for His Adopted Sister," Richie's affection for Margot is childlike and free of concern about what society thinks. Although Eli has never been blessed with a family and has been in an abusive relationship, the Tenenbaums adopt him. Eli is a drug addict, and has been delusional. The family still considers Eli their own. Their relationship has an air of absurdity, even though the Tenenbaums are not held to any moral standards.

Wes Anderson's Wes Anderson effect’

The 'Wes Anderson effect' is one of the most important characteristics of the movies Wes has made, and the films that follow his example are no exception. The 'Wes Anderson effect' might be worth looking for if you haven’t yet seen his films.

Pagoda is Andrew's BB

Andrew held a BB in his hands as an allusion to Owen's BB that Owen had in his hand when they were children. Anderson has included this part in his movie. The BB gun is so prominent in the movie, that it blocks the Statue of Liberty. Anderson also altered street signs and had Andrew Wilson play the role as the hawk.

FAQ

Why don’t more filmmakers use crowdfunding platforms like Indiegogo, Kickstarter, and others?

Crowdfunding is a great way to connect with potential investors.

Many filmmakers aren't qualified to ask money. They feel they need someone to stand by them.

They don't believe anyone should invest in them, as they have not proven their worth yet.

Instead, they spend months working hard on their project in the hope that someone will notice.

They realized that they hadn't prepared properly when they launched their campaign.

Instead of receiving thousands upon thousands of dollars, the recipients end up with a handful donations.

Why do so few independent films ever get distributed?

Indie filmmakers are assuming that distributors will be interested in their films.

Because they are confident that the public will love their film, they believe distributors would be willing to buy it.

This is not often the case. Distributors often benefit from independent filmmakers.

They use tactics such as delaying a film's release date until after awards season has ended.

They delay the release of a low-budget movie until after the summer blockbuster seasons has started.

Distributors also try to keep films away from audiences until they've already spent hundreds of dollars on tickets, popcorn, or candy.

After all, they don't want to lose out on those profits.

Hollywood is famous for what?

The simple answer was yes. Because they were willing take risks and do something completely different, it became famous. They made films that would last a lifetime.

They were also willing to try out new ideas.

How many theaters do I need to make back my investment?

It depends on how much time you intend to keep your theatrical release running.

If your film is going to be run for less then two weeks, one theater will suffice.

You will need at least two theaters if you plan to keep your film running for more than 2 weeks.

How much does it cost for a feature movie to be distributed?

A typical distribution deal will cost between $100,000-$150,000.

Theaters typically cost around $10,000.

The average cost per screen is around $5,000.

If you have 100 screens, your distribution fee will be about $500,000.

Distributor fees of $50,000 would apply if there are ten screens.
