Are Hollywood and Bollywood bigger than Bollywood?
Film producers face the greatest challenge: how to get their movie noticed by the audience.
Problem is, there are many movies competing to people's attention and money. And if you don't stand out from the crowd, you won't have much chance of getting watched.
But what makes a movie popular? What makes an actor famous? Or a director? It's more than talent, it's also luck. The best actors may be the best, but they will not succeed if they are writing bad scripts.
When it comes to movies, there are two main types. There are big-budget blockbusters as well as small independent productions. Blockbuster movies are expensive to produce and distribute. They're usually made by huge studios who want to ensure their movies reach as wide an audience as possible. However, these films with big budgets appeal mostly to older viewers.
Independent films can be smaller productions funded by individuals or groups. These films focus on niche markets or cater to particular tastes. They are generally less costly to produce and market. However, this doesn't mean that they're always cheaper to watch. Most indie films are difficult to find.
So, the question is, do we need both kinds of films? What are the best movies for independent cinema? Hollywood is larger than Bollywood, in my opinion. Hollywood produces nearly twice as many movies annually as India.
