How many films does Hollywood make in a given year?
The number of films produced by Hollywood studios each year is approximately 3,000. Three thousand!
Hollywood spends billions to advertise for these movies. They spend millions creating them. And they spend millions promoting them. How many of these movies do you think end up in theaters?
It is likely that the answer is between 200-300. What happens then to the 2,700+ remaining films? They are either distributed as direct-to–video releases or simply left in storage.
They are not all destined to be overlooked. Some of these have been selected to be distributed via Netflix, Amazon Prime or Hulu Plus.
Hence, why aren't there more of them? Why are they not released in theaters? Because they're too expensive to produce.
They'd also be cheaper to produce and released in theaters.
Here's where you find me. I can help you to find the best way to get your film into theaters.
I will teach you how to increase your return on investment (ROI), as well as increasing your chances of seeing the movie in theaters.
Let's face facts...
Getting your film into theaters can be quite difficult. The process is complex, lengthy and involves many legalities.
It can also come at a high cost before you even begin.
It is even more difficult to distribute your film within a limited timeframe.
There isn't enough time in between the time a movie is finished and when its theatrical run starts.
How many theaters would I need in order to get my money back?
It depends on how long you plan to run your theatrical release.
You will only need one theater to show your film if you plan to run it for less that two weeks.
If you're going to run your film for longer than two weeks, then at least two theaters are needed.
Is Hollywood bigger than Bollywood?
Film producers face the greatest challenge: how to get their movie noticed by the audience.
Problem is, there are many films competing for viewers' time and money. The problem is that you will not be seen if you aren't different from the rest.
But what makes a movie successful? What makes an actor a star? Or a director? It's not just talent - it's also luck. It doesn't matter if your actors are the best in the world. But a poor script will make you lose everything.
When it comes to movies, there are two main types. There are big-budget blockbusters as well as small independent productions. Producing and distributing blockbuster movies can cost hundreds of millions. These movies are often made by large studios that want their films to reach as many people as possible. But, these high-budget films are more appealing to older audiences.
Independent films are smaller-scale productions that may have to be financed individually or by groups of investors. These films focus on niche markets or cater to particular tastes. They're usually less expensive to produce and market. They aren't always more affordable to watch, however. Many indie films can be difficult to find.
The question is: Do we really need both types of movies? Do we need blockbuster movies, or smaller independent films? Hollywood is larger than Bollywood, in my opinion. Hollywood makes almost twice the number of movies each year than India.
