Why is Hollywood calling this Hollywood?

D.W. Griffith created the first movie industry in California in 1887. It was named in honor of its Los Angeles location, known at the time as "Hollywood".

Because it was an exciting area to visit, the name stuck. People would travel all the way from other countries to see what was happening.

Hollywood is still a part of our culture today. There are movies, TV shows, music videos and commercials. These are all known as Hollywood.

How many movies does Hollywood make a year?

Hollywood studios produce about 3,000 films each year. Yes, that's correct, three thousand!

Hollywood spends billions on advertising for these films. They spend millions to produce them. And they spend millions promoting them. However, how many actually make it to the theaters?

The answer is probably around 200-300. What happens then to the 2,700+ remaining films? Most of them are either released direct-to-video or just sit in storage.

They are not all destined to be overlooked. Some of them were selected for distribution via Netflix Prime, Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus, iTunes or Google Play.

So why don't we see more of them? Why are they not released in theaters? Because they're too expensive to produce.

They could also be made cheaper and put into theaters.

Here's where you find me. I can help guide you in the best way possible to put your movie in theaters.

I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.

Let's face the facts...

It can be challenging to get your film into theaters. This process can be complicated, lengthy, and filled with legalities.

It could also be costly before you even start.

You have a very short window in which to distribute your film.

There simply isn't enough time between when a film is finished, and its theatrical run begins.

Is Hollywood making more from international sales than domestic?

Yes, but only slightly. In 2017, foreign revenues accounted for about 17% of total revenue. 83% of total revenue came from domestic sources.

In fact, more than half the world's people live in overseas markets.

This means many people who might never watch a movie at home will still want to see yours.

Is Hollywood greater than Bollywood

The biggest challenge for any film producer is how to make sure his movie gets noticed by audiences.

The problem is that there are many movies competing for people's time and money. It's hard to stand out among the rest and get noticed.

What makes a movie a success? What makes an actor famous or a director? Or a director? Talent is not enough. It also requires luck. You might have all the best actors in the world, but if they're working on a bad script, nothing will come of it.

And when it comes to films, there are two main types: big-budget blockbusters and small independent productions. Producing and distributing blockbuster movies can cost hundreds of millions. These movies are often made by large studios that want their films to reach as many people as possible. These big-budget movies appeal to older audiences.

Independent films, which are typically smaller-scale productions, can be financed either by individual investors or groups. These films are often targeted at niche markets and appeal to particular tastes. These films are typically less expensive to produce and sell. This doesn't necessarily mean they are cheaper to watch. Many indie films can be difficult to find.

Is it possible to have both types of films? Do we need blockbuster movies, or smaller independent films? Hollywood is larger than Bollywood, in my opinion. That's because Hollywood produces almost twice as many movies per year as India does!
